When you have colostomy or ileostomy surgery you get a stoma. That’s a given. We all know that. However, they can all look very different depending on what your operation is trying to achieve, and other factors such as body style and so on.
The UOAA (United Ostomy Association of America) have produced this amazing chart to help people understand the differences in many types of stoma and in turn help you to understand what type of stoma you have.
