Surfing on the internet over the last week I discovered an ostomy and IBD related blog I’d not seen before. Written by Claire Jones her IBD, ostomy, life and me blog forms part of the Stom-Life website. One post in particular which made me smile was the Toilets, trees and other things! post from September last year discussing the adventures one can have using public toilets, or in this case toilets at a camp site. We’ve all been there, we’ve all had to change our pouch in a toilet or bathroom which is foreign to us and Claire’s post took me back to the few occasions where I’ve had my own adventures with public bathrooms whilst trying to change my pouch.
I can also recommend paying a visit to Claire’s Stom-Life website which is run in partnership with her husband Ian. On it they “tell of [their] journey as a family before and after having a Stoma”. The site features information on ostomies and IBD & IBS as well as looking at Claire’s own story both pre-and-post ostomy surgery.
